tiNi Tessa (Desolat 2011)
Born in Munich and based in Berlin, tINI has been a member of the Desolat family since 2009, when the label released her song “That’s Right” on the Desolat X compilation EP. Her role thus far has been primarily as a DJ—aside from a remix of Manon’s “Que Cara É Essa,” “That’s Right” remains her only released material to date. According to a press release, Tessa is named after a friend of tINI’s that encouraged her decision to become a DJ and producer. The album was composed mainly in Ibiza, and draws inspiration from tINI’s experiences there. “For me a song is like my very own diary,” she says. “My way to express my feelings in that very moment: from absolute joy to deepest melancholy.”
